Webinar Description
Webinar Theme:
Sleep is essential for a physiological and psychological functioning. Without getting enough sleep you are likely to feel fatigued, make bad decisions, experience poorer mood, and have poorer long term health outcomes (e.g., cardiovascular health. mental health, obesity).
Boarding, like many other industries, relies on shift work.
Boarding staff often have to work overnight or start early in the morning to provide supervision and care for students. This means that staff are likely to have shortened or disrupted sleep - and may feel fatigued either at work or outside of work.
This webinar has been designed by fatigue management experts to apply learnings from other industries to the boarding context. This will help boarding staff and management to:
- Understand the biology and function of sleep
- Identify key considerations for shift workers in the boarding environment
- Consider fatigue related risk in boarding
- Develop strategies to improve sleep and daytime functioning
