Let me share The Sleep Connection and work together on improving the Health, Resilience and Performance of your School or Corporation.
Quality sleep is vital for optimal wellbeing and performance.
Many of our younger children and approximately 70% of our teens do not get the sleep they need. This can have negative consequences for their learning, motivation and mental health.
I’m the founder and owner of The Sleep Connection and I specialise in helping children and adolescents thrive in their overall health and wellbeing, resilience, school performance and family lives through my interactive programs and workshops.
My programs, run primarily through the school setting, provide a simple, yet effective framework to help students, parents and staff:
• Increase their awareness of the causes and effects of this insufficient sleep
• Assess their own sleep habits and empower them with knowledge, motivation and practical strategies to improve their sleep health.
• Deliver information on pathways to treatment for those who require professional help.
• Equip school with ideas they can implement for a whole-school approach to becoming a “sleep smart school”.
The strength of my program comes from sharing the message from 3 different perspectives:
1. From a professional perspective- current work and collaborations in the area, along previously working in the area of adult sleep apnea and corporate health
2. As a mother of 2 teenagers- living the reality of my message
3. And lastly as someone who experienced chronic insomnia a number of years ago, so I am personally aware of the impact
Through The Sleep Connection I deliver a comprehensive solution through collaboration with specialists from SleepShack, which delivers the clinically proven online sleep program for pre-teens and teenagers, along with the Woolcock Paediatric and Adolescent Sleep Clinic. The Woolcock Institute of Medical Research in Sydney are world leaders in sleep and breathing research.
