Commencing my boarding career in 2003 as a means to understanding teenagers and learning pastoral and behavior management skills which could help me as I began my pre-service teaching journey, it soon became evident that this was a love affair with all things boarding. It has paved a career which now spans almost 18 years, for the past 12 years as a head/director of boarding schools in Queensland. 

Boarding isn't simply a job or career, it is a lifestyle! Something which I have the privilege to be able to share with my young family. A residential lifestyle offers much more than 3 squares and a bed, it forms an opportunity for young people to acquire the skills of independence, resilience, compassion and empathy, all through a rich tapestry of diversity and cultural exchange. Understanding that the world is a matter of perspectives, yours is merely only one of them. Most people spend a lifetime gaining these experiences, where most boarders are fortunate enough to exit secondary schooling with a good handle on these.
